A few years ago, while attending the Watch City Steampunk Festival to dance I was lucky enough to meet a group who had big plans to bring Steampunk to Attleboro. This was my local area so as you can imagine I was excited to learn all I could! Fast forward a few months and I was booking dancers for the brand new Jewelry City Steampunk Festival. It was not hard to find enthusiastic dancers who were already enamored with the Steampunk Genre. The show was so well received that we were invited back to the annual event. Before long I was officially running the belly dance show for the wonderful event. A small part for me to worry about compared to the responsibilities of the incredible festival organizers for this massive event. Since then I have done the show annually with some of the most amazing dancers I know!
In 2020 the event was battling the pandemic and still trying to go on. As always my dancers found a way to make the show happen when the event went virtual. It is with so much hope that I am mentioning the event here and keeping my fingers crossed that it will happen in person in 2022. Keep checking back. The Event usually happens in October in beautiful downtown Attleboro, harkening back to the glory days of this jewelry making city.
